Ahead Women's Ministry does the hard work because healing is on the other end. I am inspired and motivated by the stories of people but especially women. For as long as I can remember, there has been a magnetic pull of intrigue to the strength of women. The way they prevail, succeed, make it happen, and push those around them. But I also quickly learned the resilience that is often celebrated in women can be a heavy cross to bear. It doesn't leave much time for self-care, healing, or a moment to breathe and respond. Just to survive. Every woman deserves more than that. So Ahead Women’s Ministry was born.
The Ahead Retreat and Workshops strive to enhance the well-being of women by equipping them with tools that can be used in everyday life to thrive spiritually, physically, and mentally to focus on all that is Ahead. Bimonthly we come together for workshops focused on releasing past hurts, pursuing purpose, building our community, and deepening our relationships with Christ. Annually, we host retreats from city to city. Women come from far and near for 3 days and 2 nights to invest in their futures, peace, and an opportunity to release, renew, and reclaim their lives!
If awarded this grant, we will be able to bless so many other women. We’d be able to sponsor women to attend our events, expand our ministry to supportive funding (bill support, childcare support), and mentor more young women around confidence and self-esteem.
We will pay it forward by offering a series of free workshops both online and in person for business success, self- care days, community partnerships, and targeted reaches of support to those in the community who need it most. Being housed in southern Louisiana, many areas suffer from poverty. We would like to host more opportunities to serve and provide outreach for women of all calibers. Because even though they might not be able to afford it, doesn't mean they don't deserve it.
